When was the last time that you spend time with yourself, all alone? To just relax and sooth yourself? Oh, we are told that time is money not to be “wasted” on doing no-thing, but taking time for yourself is perhaps one of the most important things you can do to stay balanced in this crazy, busy world.
Typically, when people think of taking time for themselves they consider a vacation or long weekend away from home. Some may even like to go to a monastery or spiritual retreat. However taking time for yourself can be as simple as walking alone during a lunch break, or taking a long bath when you are at home. In my experience it is not the length that counts but the conscious choice to be with yourself for any given period of time and to just enjoy and savor the moment.
Why this is beneficial? Because taking time for yourself is an act of self love and loving yourself is the most nurturing and balancing experience you can have. Don’t take my word for it but try it yourself and find out, today!
