Born This Way

Why on earth would I feature a Lady Gaga song here while she never even made it to my personal iTunes playlist?

Well, that was until last night, after I watched a documentary on Dutch TV in which the famous fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier interviewed Lady Gaga.

Of course, I had heard about Lady Gaga before, but for some reason she had not made a lasting impression on me, until this interview in which I found her very authentic, fascinating and inspiring, and I could clearly feel her passion for life.

During the interview she told how as an artist she was basically ignored on stage until one night, out of frustration, she dropped all her clothes and the rest is history. Isn’t that a beautiful metaphor? That in order to make it in life and being heard you have to dare dropping your “clothes” and accept your “nakedness!”

Her song “Born This Way,” which resonated very deeply with me, is about self love and acceptance (see lyrics below), and will give you a perfect impression of what Lady Gaga is about. It is a song that will make you dance and feel good about yourself, anytime, anywhere! I am afraid I have become one of her Little Gaga Monsters too… 🙂

Enjoy (especially with headphones and large screen)!

Lyrics

It does’nt matter if you love him, or capital H.I.M.
Just put your paws up
‘Cause you were born this way, baby

My momma told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She rolled my hair and my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir

“There is nothing wrong with lovin’ “who you are”
She said: “cause he made you perfect, babe”
“So hold your head up girl, and you go far,
Listen to me when I say ”

I am beautiful in my way,
“cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don’t hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself as he said
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way

Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born this way
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don’t be a drag, just a queen
Don’t be a drag, just a queen
Don’t be a drag, just a queen

Give yourself prudence and love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth

Another lover is not a sin
Believe capital H.I.M. (hey, hey, hey)
I love my life, I love this record and
Mi Amore vole fe yah (Love needs faith)

I’m beautiful in my way,
“cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Do not hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself as he said
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
(oh babe)

Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

(Don’t be…)

Do not drag, just a queen
Whether you’re broke or evergreen
You’re black, white, beige, Chula descent
You’re Lebanese, you’re Orient
Whether like disabilities
let your outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
‘Cause baby, you were born this way

No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgender life
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chula or orient made
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave

I am beautiful in my way
“For God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Do not hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself as he said
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
Ooo, there’s no other way
Baby, I was born
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
